An Ode to the End
Speak once more with deep emotion stirred,
Where breaths of death rattled, unheard.
Silence fell as souls took flight,
Dreams deflating into the night.
Left alone, in pain I reel,
With my ghostly love, the scene surreal.
Together perched upon a tree,
Spelling out our end: D-Y-I-N-G.
History repeats, the curtain falls,
What was the end? The mystery calls.
I feign ignorance, yet deep inside,
The question echoes, wide and wide:
How did it end, where did it bend?
This cycle that spins without amend.
Gather round, once again it's here,
As empathetic hunger draws near.
Secrets we whisper, to friends confide,
Yet in my heart, the question abides:
How did it end? I long to know,
As shadows dance and winds blow.
